Bespoke Petrochemical, Oil & Gas Systems
Petrochemical, Oil or Gas
Storage, Processing or Transportation
Angus Fire offers firefighting systems for a wide range of production processes in the chemical and petrochemical industry. We can design, supply and commission systems entirely according to customer specifications.
Once the risk and overall plant has been reviewed by our highly experienced design and engineering team we can propose the best solution for protecting the risk based on the correct extinguishing agent. Water is the most widely used, but may be unsuitable as an extinguishing agent in some production processes. In those cases, we can work with an alternative extinguishing agent such as foam or dry chemical.
Fire protection systems such as water sprinkler and foam spray systems are used in the process industries for protection of storage vessels, process plant, loading installations and warehouses. The duty of the fire protection system may be to extinguish the fire, control the fire, or provide exposure protection to prevent spreading of the fire to adjacent risks. For some applications foam pourers or fixed water monitors may be a more appropriate method of delivery than sprays or sprinklers.
Liquified Natural Gas
Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) is a risk area at the heart of Angus Fire Engineering’s expertise. LNG fires need a radically different approach to other hydrocarbon risks. Angus Fire has developed a range of systems using high expansion foam, water cooling and Monnex based dry chemical, specifically designed to address this risk.
A major potential hazard of LNG activity is the formation of a vapour cloud from an accidental release of product. The systems developed by Angus Fire provide a foam blanket in order to suppress the vapours released, so that a controlled plant shut down can be carried out. Dry chemical and water cooling support this by aiding dispersion of the released LNG.
Whatever the requirement – production, transportation or storage – Angus Fire has the products, systems expertise and experience to meet the safety demands of LNG production.
Tank Storage Farms
Angus Fire has vast experience in the protection of all types of fuel storage tanks.
Foam systems are normally the prime method of fire protection. These can be in the form of Base Injection or Top Pourer systems for fixed roof tanks, or rimseal systems for floating roof tanks.
The Floatafoam system provides additional protection for floating roof tanks and is employed as an automatic system designed to detect and extinguish tank rim seal fires in their infancy.
The Big Flow Monitor systems can also be deployed on tanks where the floating roof has been damaged or sunk.
For all types of tank exposure protection can be provided in the form of fixed water spray or fire water monitor systems.
