Base Injection

Base Injection (also known as sub-surface foam injection) is suitable for use on vertical fixed roof storage tanks containing flammable or combustible hydrocarbons. It is not recommended to use Base Injection for Polar Solvent fuels.

Base Injection systems operate by injecting expanded foam at a pre-determined application rate via the base of the tank (above the water level). The foam then rises through the fuel to form an extinguishing blanket at the surface. Base Injection requires high quality, fuel tolerant foam such as Angus FP70.
